#1 FINALLY: Changing life for its best! LEARNED: Just do it!

Finally!!! I'm online, and I can't believe it yet. After talking about it for years now, I set my own homepage and started my own blog. I did it, finally!!! I'm so happy and proud to present you my website and my first blogpost today! So let's tell you what has been going on in the last months...

It was February, when my boyfriend and I finally decided to change our life. Until then we lived together in an apartment in Rostock. After all this years you can say that we had a great time living and studying there. But for us, there was nothing that kept us staying, we've already got everything this city could give us...We thought about to take this step months ago, we talked a lot about doing it. The longing for breaking out grew every day. So we decided to dissolve our apartment, to reduce the most important things and sell or give away everything else. Lucky us we found a very lovely new tenant right away. Under all these conditions we were looking for our new home...a kind of new home we dreamed of for so so long. A home which shouldn't bound us to a certain location, a home in which all our most important stuff should fit in and a home which should bring us to wherever we want to be. We were looking for a VW van, that underlines our lifestyle, that is a safe and cosy place for us to live.

After a few weeks searching, on easter Monday, we finally found him: a VW T3 with a high roof colored in original VW red. We drove 3 hours from Lübeck to Niebüll to pick him up! Our new family member!!! We were so lucky and still are! We still can't realize it; the changes, our new home, our new way of life...and all that happened just in one month. We just did it! It feels so incredibly good; to be free and without any unnecessary ballast.

The first two weeks we spent in Lübeck to prepare everything for our big journey. It isn't just our new home, for both of us it's the first own car as well. So there were a few organization things on our list that needed to be done- register him, choose a personal license plate, get a car insurance and for us the most important thing: name him! We chose Mr. Brown, actually for no reason. But a few days ago, when I sat at the driver's seat, I discovered that Mr. Brown has just got one brown thing at all- the window crank! So I decreed that he's called Mr. Brown because of this.

In the end of the two weeks, when we were done with everything- cleaning, packing and fitting him out, one day we celebrated our decision with a yummy meal at Leo's Juice & Burger in Lübeck. As a pescetarian I took a veggie burger with a salad and my boyfriend had a beef one with sweet potato fries. And for both of us a very delicious smoothie. You should definitely go there! They have not only good food, also a very fancy and hip location!

Our first stop on our journey with Mr. Brown was supposed to be Sylt. My boyfriend got a job as a kite surf teacher at the Südkap Surfing School in Hörnum. Since I've been working in the promotion sector for so long, I also got the first job on the island just right away. So we hit the road and took the route via Denmark, Rømø, by ferry. Of course we couldn't miss the Rømø beach with enjoying a typical Scandinavian ice-cream- kingsize!

Driving with Mr. Brown is just so much fun...

To be continued...

If you liked reading the first post and you're curious about what happened after we arrived onto the island Sylt keep reading the second post...
